Hello. This is Mehmet Yesiltas.

Currently I am an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Aeronautics and Space Sciences at Kirklareli University.

I was a postdoc under the supervision of Prof. Tim Glotch in the Department of Geosciences at Stony Brook University, working as a member of the RIS4E team for the investigation of Space Weathering aspect of extraterrestrial materials.

I hold a Ph.D. degree in physics from  University of Central Florida. In my doctoral research, I specialized on laboratory astrophysics. I currently work on characterization of meteorites and infrared devices.   I also hold a M.S. degree in physics from Florida State University, where I worked on electronic band structure of a semi-metal material called EuB6. My B.S. degree in Physics is from Ondokuzmayis University (Turkey).

Apart from research, I am an amateur astrophotographer, capturing the night sky. I also play volleyball for fun.
